The museum is located at 99 Chicago Riverwalk, on the northwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive. The main entrance is on the Riverwalk level. We are the southwest bridgetower.

The best way to get to the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum is by public transportation.

Public Transportation

Michigan Avenue buses that stop near the Bridgehouse are plentiful. They include: #11, #33, #125, #145, #146, #147, #151 and #157. If traveling by train, it is best to exit at the State & Lake Station, Blue Line riders should exit at Clark & Lake Station. Walk east to Michigan Avenue and North to the Michigan Avenue Bridge. Metra

If you arrive downtown by Metra Train to the Randolph Street Station, walk north three blocks until you get to Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River. If you arrive at Union Station, take the #151 bus. From the Ogilvie Transportation Center (Madison and Canal Streets) you can get to the Bridgehouse by taking bus #157. Visitors arriving at the LaSalle Street Station (Congress and LaSalle Streets) can take bus #125, #151, or #157.

Driving Directions

North, from the Kennedy or Edens Expressway

Traveling from the north on the Kennedy or Edens expressways (Interstates 90/94), exit at Washington Blvd. which soon becomes Washington Street. Traveling east, turn left onto Upper N. Wacker Drive. Follow Wacker, veering to the right at the Chicago River as N. Wacker Drive becomes W. Wacker Drive. Proceed to Michigan Avenue. The Bridgehouse will be on your left. To find public parking nearby, continue driving on Wacker Drive past Michigan Avenue to 111 E. Wacker Drive.

North, from Lake Shore Drive

Driving from North Lake Shore Drive (Highway 41), exit at Michigan Avenue. Just after traveling across the Michigan Avenue Bridge, turn right onto Wacker Drive. The Bridgehouse will be on your right. To find parking nearby, travel west to Wabash Ave. and turn left. Make another quick left onto E. Wacker Drive. Continue east, crossing Michigan Avenue to 111 E. Wacker Drive.

South, from the Dan Ryan Expressway

Traveling from the south on the Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstates 90/94), exit at Washington Blvd. which soon becomes Washington Street. Traveling east, turn left onto Upper N. Wacker Drive. Follow Wacker, veering to the right at the Chicago River as N. Wacker Drive becomes W. Wacker Drive. Proceed to Michigan Avenue. The Bridgehouse will be on your left. To find public parking nearby, continue driving on Wacker Drive past Michigan Avenue to 111 E. Wacker Drive.

South, from the Indiana Toll Road

Traveling from the east on the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 90), take the Chicago Skyway to the Stony Island exit, follow Highway 41 (Lake Shore Drive) to downtown Chicago. Veer onto Lower Lake Shore Drive just north of Monroe Street, continuing on Lower Wacker Drive as it curves left onto Wacker Drive. Continue west onto Upper E. Wacker Drive. Public parking is available at 111. E. Wacker Drive. The Bridgehouse is located one half block west at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive.

East, from Interstate 90/94

Traveling from the east on Interstate 90/94, continue on the Dan Ryan Expressway. Exit at Washington Blvd. which soon becomes Washington Street. Traveling east, turn left onto Upper N. Wacker Drive. Follow Wacker, veering to the right at the Chicago River as N. Wacker Drive becomes W. Wacker Drive. Proceed to Michigan Avenue. The Bridgehouse will be on your left. To find public parking nearby, continue driving on Wacker Drive past Michigan Avenue to 111 E. Wacker Drive.

From the west

Traveling from the west on the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290), which becomes Congress Parkway, drive east to Michigan Avenue. Turn left, traveling north 10 blocks to Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive. The Bridgehouse will be on your left. To find public parking nearby, turn right onto E. Wacker Drive to 111 E. Wacker.
